Maximum allowable shear stress for QUAD concrete rule#

For point supported slabs the allowable shear stress is exceeded often in support-near elements. It results in shear plastification. It might be necessary to increase the maximum allowable shear stress to eliminate these sometimes unwanted shear plastification effects. (The default value is the bond stress of the material.)

This is only necessary in special cases, because for this shear plastification the punching information from task_design_area_uls_small Design ULS (Area Elements) is taken into account in a non-linear slab analysis. At punching nodes, the shear plasticity check will be switched off inside an radius of column-edge+hm.

T-beam components: Custom#

For t-beams inside plates, the plate components are deducted automatically during the stiffness calculation with cross section widths defined in the cross section definition. The dead load is adjusted to avoid double dead load. The components of the plate internal forces are added then to theresults of the beam internal forces for a subsequent dimensioning.

If you check the ‘’custom’’ control parameter for the t-beam components, you can influence which forces are added. The availabel options are:

  • moments My are added

  • shear forces Vz are added

  • axial forces N are added

  • torsional moments MT are added
