Workflow - Step by Step#

New workflow video currently under production#
Note
Starting point of SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator is a view showing the Physical Model in Revit (elements listed in the Model Category). It is not necessary to adjust view settings to include the elements of the Analytical Model Category.
Find or create a view that shows the relevant part of your project. For more information, see Best Practices.
Select Ribbon. This opens the SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator Side Panel.
in the(Optional) Choose Prepare to have SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator help you find the relevant structural elements.
Or head directly to Generate and let SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator create an optimized analytical model based on your selection.
Thoroughly check your analytical model, both within Autodesk® Revit® and the structural analysis software of your choice. If necessary, repeat the process from C.
Add boundary conditions and loads to your analytical model.
If changes to your structural model have occured, choose Check to perform various Coordination Checks and Analytical Quality Check.
Best Practices#
Focus on the structure in question by removing surroundings and imported or linked projects not relevant to the analysis task at hand.
To cut down computation time for complex projects, consider investigating different structure parts separately in individual views, e.g., residential floors, commercial floors and car parking in a multi-purpose building. Once satisfied with the optimization, bring everything together in a single view.
