Release Notes#
The following list presents new features and issues resolved within SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator.
These issues are often directly reported by our users by contacting the SOFiSTiK Technical Support
or the SOFiSTiK Communities.
Tip
For the optimal product experience we highly recommend to work with its latest version.
2026-4 Update Release (March 2026)#
Features#
Split and Join are the newest additions to the SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator tool box. These commands offer quick ways to alternate the Analytical Model according to your needs after the Generate step. Select the elements in question and let SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator take care of the rest: Automatic detection where to split/join, handling of properties, orientation and association - all done with the click of a button.
The Check step now supports elements, where the new Analytical Representation settings are used. Physical Elements and Analytical Elements are checked and compared against each other in the known manner, independent of the
Generate Asproperty.
Bug Fixes#
Several bug fixes and improvements where the new Analytical Representation settings are used.
Analytical Links are created in the known manner, e.g., for Walls with a
Generate As=Vertical Analytical Memberproperty. The Locking Mechanism is also respected on elements where the
Generate Asproperty is changed.
Bug fixes relevant for Steel Structures, especially in combination with Levels, Grids and Reference Planes and Importance and Keep Parallel.
2026-3 Update Release (February 2026)#
Features#
Take control over the resulting Analytical Model with the new Analytical Representation settings. The
Generate Asproperty allows to determine what kind of analytical elements are created for each element of your Physical Model. Supported Model Categories are Columns, Structural Framing and Walls.
Influence of Generate As for Structural Framing during Generate step#
Selection of a Autodesk® Revit® Group object is treated as a multi-selection of the elements involved. The Property Panel will instantly show the elements’ (common) properties. To show the properties of subset according to an element category, the dropdown menu can be used.
More transparency through a new option to control the creation of Analytical Links during Generate.
2026-1 Update Release (October 2025)#
Features#
Control the Local Coordinate System of Floors with new Analytical Elements Geometry settings, offering a choice between the span direction of the individual floor slabs and the global coordinate system.
Bug Fixes#
General bug fixes.
Improvements in the creation of analytical panels for floors.
2026-0 Release (July 2025)#
What’s New in 2026#
Providing more control over the Horizontal Alignment for Elements, SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator allows structural engineers to select Datum Elements, such as Grids and Reference Planes, to be considered during Generate.
Horizontal Alignment settings for Grids and a perfectly aligned analytical model in the background#
Together with the already existing Vertical Alignment for Elements features, achieving a clean analytical model is easier than ever.
Leveraging Revit Parts, new possibilities arise for experienced Autodesk® Revit® modellers, especially in prefab reinforced concrete.
Improvements to the handling of Multi-layered Elements with clearer rules and better reporting about which layers are used in determining the Structural Material and Thickness for Analytical Panels.
This online documentation.
Other Features#
With the features Importance and Keep Parallel, SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator is now much better equipped to solve Steel Structures
Importance allows to determine between Primary and Secondary components, thus defining their significance for the global optimal solution of the model.
Keep Parallel allows to determine if the orientation of the analytical member should follow the physical component. Disabling this requirement, e.g., for diagonals, can lead to higher-quality solutions for the model in its entirety.
SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator is now Supporting Linked Models, thus opening up an entirely new workflow. According to Autodesk® Revit®, adding Linked Models allows to more easily manage the individual parts or to improve performance when working on a large project.
This feature is made for customers where different teams, departments or companies do not work together in a single project, but keep things seperate and work with Revit Links to tie them into their own project. See Supporting Linked Models to learn more about the workflow.
New Merging functionality during the Generate step for an even cleaner Analytical Model, specifically when exporting to other software from third-party vendors.
Improved User Interface of the Wizard, specifically the new Visualization grid. These UI changes, combined with the adjustments of how we handle views, provide better visual assistance while using SOFiSTiK Analytical Model Generator. To learn more, see the explanation in any of the steps Prepare, Generate or Check.
