A tower element is used to differentiate parts of a multi-tower building. It is defined by a 4 point horizontal polygon (lateral extensions), an ID, a designation and an elevation. The elevation is taken from the z-coordinate of the polygonal points and exported as ZBAS value (see chapter ‘TOWR – Towers’ of the manual SOFiMSHC)
Storey elevations can be associated with a tower element, and this dependency will be considered during the export via the Export command. The tower and its elevations can be then used in the scope of a subsequent seismic analysis.
For background information to the storey and tower concept see Storeys and Towers Concept.

Furthermore, SOFiMSHC will automatically generate a tower base level based on the tower’s elevation. This level is also automatically shown in the Assign Elevation to Tower dialog. All other storeys, associated with the tower, must have an elevation higher than the tower base level.
