Compatibility of the Viewer SQLite database

The SQLite database created and used by the Viewer is versioned for each SOFiSTiK release, including Service Packs.

Backward compatibility is supported (as long as the corresponding SOFiSTiK CDB file is available), while forward compatibility is not.

The main compatibility scenarios are:

• Backward compatibility: The Viewer SQLite database was created with an older SOFiSTiK version. The Viewer will automatically synchronize the database to the current version.

Error

If the corresponding SOFiSTiK CDB file is not available in the same directory, an error will occur, as synchronization cannot be performed.

• Forward compatibility: The Viewer SQLite database was created with a newer SOFiSTiK version. The Viewer cannot open or synchronize this database with an older version.

An error message will be displayed.
