2025-12 Update Release (July 2026)#

Features#

  • SOFiSTiK Names can be transferred easily from analytical elements to their associated physical counterparts using the new Transfer Names command. It enhances coordination between the analytical and physical models. Note

For projects generated with a previous SOFiSTiK major release, data will be updated automatically.
Please check the systems and their mappings carefully after the upgrade.

Projects cannot be opened with a previous major release anymore.

Main System#

The new Main System command is your project’s base camp when working with SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design. It is the clear starting point of the workflow and enables you to choose which analytical elements are relevant for your analyses according to the What you see is what you get principle.

  • Define in one click which Revit 3D view will be the center of your analysis.

  • Never get lost as one click on the Main System command always brings you back to its related Revit view.

  • Main System integrates seamlessly and can be managed optimally with the new Analysis Browser.

The New Main System Command

Analysis Browser#

SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design 2025 introduces the Analysis Browser. It allows you to manage easily and efficiently all SOFiSTiK systems in the project, and much more…

  • Provides an overview of all systems present in your project.

  • Managing, calculating and accessing any subsystems is only one click away with the powerfull commands in the context (right-click) menu.

  • Manages the new Load Taked Down and its workflow.

  • Works instantaneously with the System View in Structural Properties to control settings before performing analyses with the new Calculate.

  • Includes all the features previously found in the drop-down menu Current System which has been removed.

  • Includes all the features and commands previously found in the Design Browser which has been removed.

The New Analysis Browser

Calculate and System View Properties#

With the new Calculate command, SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design 2025 brings speed and efficiency to your calculations.

  • Performs immediately the calculation of the current system.

  • Which and how calculations are conducted is now defined in the System View properties of each system, in the Structural Properties panel. These properties have been extended to contain all necessary controls for the calculations.

  • Selecting or multi-selecting system(s) in the new Analysis Browser, will display its properties in the Structural Properties panel. With this you can, at any time, check and adjust the calculation properties of one or several system(s) at once.

  • For projects where directly starting with the analysis of the Main System is too much to tackle, the analysis task Generate FE Mesh can now be deactivated before calculation. This allows to optimize the calculation time spent on the main system and focus more quickly on the creation and analysis of subsystems.

  • The Start dialogue has been removed. All its features and settings are now available directly in the System View properties in the Structural Properties panel for each system.

The New Calculate Command

New Load Take Down#

With the new Load Take Down, the workflow to read reaction forces from supporting elements of a subsystem and transfer these as equivalent loads in a subsystem placed below has been completely reworked. The new workflow brings more transparency and more flexibility.

  • Provides access to the new workflow to perform the Load Take Down which replaces all previous workflows.

  • Creates graphically Load Take Down Sets, defining between which subsystems loads are being transferred. With it, performing load take down calculations is now easy, and also possible for complex layouts, e.g., for project containing transfer floors or split levels.

  • The new advanced settings in the sets allow more control how Load Take Down loads are transferred, e.g., creating trapezoidal loads when taking down line support reactions.

  • Apply and calculate the Load Take Down easily by turning the analysis task Apply Load Take Down on and calculating the system.

  • At calculation, generates a dedicated Load Take Down report for each subsystem in the set. Loads generated by load take down can also be checked and isolated in the Graphical Output.

  • Performs the calculation of all subsystems, in the correct order and including load take down by calculating the complete set with the new Analysis Browser.

  • Integrates seamlessly with the new Analysis Browser where Load Take Down sets are managed.

  • Includes all the features previously found in the Transfer Loads command which has been removed.

  • Includes all the features accessed previously with the property Use for load take down which has been removed.

New Load Take Down Workflow

Interaction with the Analytical Model#

Several small but powerful new features are introduced with SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design 2025 to facilitate your every day works with the analytical model.

  • When the Local Coordinate System of analytical elements is visible, Revit now allows to adjust it with the new build-in tools available in the Modify ribbon. See Revit’s online help for more information about this new feature. 208917 208986

  • The new command Select Elements in the context menu of the new Analysis Browser enables to select and highlight which of the elements visible in the view belong to a specific subsystem or design.

  • Reinforcing the seamless integration between SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design and ssd_small SOFiSTiK Structural Desktop (SSD). GUID for all elements are now available via the resultviewer_small SOFiSTiK Result Viewer and can be added in user defined tables of SOFiSTiK results. The tables are printed out in reports or can be exported to the Excel file of your choosing.

Selecting Elements of a Subsystem with the Analysis Browser

Rebar Check#

  • Rebar Check now supports results packages from linked models as data source.

  • Reinforcement is now detected regardless of the component it is hosted by. For example, connection rebars extending from a foundation slab into a column.

  • Improved recognition of rebars.

Further Features#

  • Beam Design:

    • Now allows to deactivate the basic reinforcement of the cross section.

    • Now recognizes Revit boundary condition as support, even when no supporting member such as columns or walls have been modelled underneath.

    • Now automatically adapts to geometric changes of members smaller than 10 cm.

  • A new type of SOFiSTiK standard cross section is available: the “edge beam” - a half-sided T-beam cross-section. Cross sections of this new type can be created manually in the cross section mapping or the Project Settings and mapped to Revit elements in the cross section mapping.

  • The newest design code US ACI-318-19 - Building code for Structural Concrete ACI 318-19(22) is available in SOFiSTiK. It is available in the short list of SOFiSTiK Analysis + Design design codes for US, replacing the ACI-318-14. The ACI-318-14 is now available like other design code supported by SOFiSTiK in the Other codes and advanced settings dialog box of the Project Settings.

Bug Fixes#

  • Fixed an issue where outdated definition of secondary groups, design elements or load distribution areas remained in the Finite Element model of the system despite new export. 223560

  • Fixed an issue where beams with changing local coordinate systems were not now recognized as continuous by Beam Design.
