Subsystem View#
Subsystems are specific Revit 3D Views used as source to generate secondary or partial SOFiSTiK Finite Element model from the analytical model. To create and manage subsystems, dedicated commands are available as listed here below.
Important
For subsystem views, the following rules apply:
What you see is what you get
The visible Revit analytical elements will be generated as Finite Elements.See Supported Elements and Mapping for more information.Optional transformation into Boundary Conditions
Choosen Revit analytical elements can be transformed into supports (when the corresponding option is activated).See Boundary Conditions for more information.
Create Subsystem View#
A subsystem view is created by manually selecting elements:
Select the analytical elements which should be part of the subsystem.
Click to validate the selection.
A new subsystem view is created. In the dialog box, adjust the view’s name.
Note
Analytical elements connected to the one selected are automatically recognized as supporting elements. They are marked for transformation into Boundary Conditions.
Create Subsystem Views by Levels#
A subsystem view is automatically created via the level information of the Revit project:
In the dialog box, select for which Revit level a subsystem view should be created (only levels containing at least one analytical panel are listed).
Click to validate the selection.
New subsystem views are created (one view per level):
Analytical slabs and beams present in the level are visible. They will be the Finite Elements of the subsystem.
Analytical walls and columns connected to the slabs are automatically recognized as supporting elements. They marked for transformation into Boundary Conditions.
Remove Subsystems#
To remove a subsystem, the following options are available:
Select the subsystem in Analysis Browser, then [1] or
Open the subsystem view, either via Revit’s Project Browser or Analysis Browser, then [1] or
Delete the subsystem view from Revit’s Project Browser.
