Calculate#
General#
Important
Ensure the Structural Properties panel is displayed.
If not, click to open it.
There, check and adjust the system’s analysis tasks and settings (in the System View Properties associated with the active view).
Click to start immediately with the calculations [3].
Calculate the Main System#
If the active Revit view is the SOFiSTiK Main System View, Calculate enables you to generate, load and analyze its Finite Element model.
Calculate a Subsystem#
If the active Revit view is a SOFiSTiK Subsystem View, Calculate enables you to generate, load and analyze secondary Finite Element models called “Subsystems”. In this case, additional options, specific to subsystems, are available in the System View properties. For instance, subsystems allow for an the automatic generation of boundary conditions and the application of a load take down.
Important
If a subsystem is part of a Load Take Down set and this set is active, some System View properties are handled through the set, as indicated through the read-only state.
Tip
The What you see is what you get rule allows to configure different Revit views (especially Subsystem Views) to generate different kind of systems within the same project. For example to obtain different loading situations or even different structural models.
