Axis Dimensions#

Creates detail element as dimensioning line of the selected axis. Line’s geometry and lenght value are calculated according to horizontal alignment of selected axis between picked stations at the axis. Style of the created dimensioning line is defined in the Settings Dialog

  1. Click SOFiSTiK Bridge tab > Shop Drawings panel > Annotation drop-down > icon_Axis_Annotation (Axis Annotation)

  2. Select an axis. Preview of the Dimension Line appears.

  3. Select two or more stations at the axis. If no station is selected, whole axis will be taken into account.

  4. Select Dimension Style in context bar.

  5. Click in the empty view space to place the dimension line.

Tip

You can move selected annotation lines by draging two blue arrows.

Tip

You can define additional Custom Styles in context bar.

Warning

Dimension lines will not be automatically updated after changes in the structure’s geometry.

Edge Dimensions#

  1. Click SOFiSTiK Bridge tab > Shop Drawings panel > Annotation drop-down > icon_Axis_Annotation (Axis Annotation)

  2. Select an axis. Preview of the Dimension Line appears.

  3. Select two or more stations at the edge. If no station is selected, whole edge will be taken into account.

  4. Select Dimension Style in context bar.

  5. Click in the empty view space to place the dimension line.

Edit Dimension#

You can edit created Axis or Edge dimensions to add more references or change the position.

  1. Click SOFiSTiK Bridge tab > Shop Drawings panel > Axis or Edge Dimension drop-down > icon_Edit_Dimension (Edit Dimension)

  2. Select any Axis or Edge Dimension.

  3. Add or remove references and adjust position.

  4. Confirm with Enter.

Tip

You can assign new Custom Style after selection of any Axis / Edge Dimension in the context bar.

Update Dimension#

Updates Point or Curve Dimension that are placed in view. This command is useful after changes in the model components. Please note, that this command is working only for current view and updates dimensions when new reference is found.

Note

Manual adjustments or Editing of the dimensions may be required.

  1. Click SOFiSTiK Bridge tab > Shop Drawings panel > Axis or Edge Dimension drop-down > icon_Update_Dimension (Update Dimension)

  2. Axis / Edge Dimension are updated according to new references.

Clean up Dimension#

Deletes all SOFiSTiK_Detail_References_Dimension instances without dimensions in the current view. This command is useful, when you have deleted some point or curve dimensions and want to clean up the drawing from unnecessary objects.

  1. Click SOFiSTiK Bridge tab > Shop Drawings panel > Axis or Edge Dimension drop-down > icon_Cleanup_Dimension (Clean up Dimension)

  2. All Detail Families created by Axis / Edge Dimension tool, that are not placed in any view, will be deleted.
