Creates tendon on slabs. |
Tendons are created on the layer X___TEND_ASDWG. These elements define the geometry of tendons in plan. The direction of a tendon is visualised with an arrow near the start point of the element. The tendon geometry must not contain any discontinuities (e.g. kinks).
Before a tendon can be created, a prestressing steel material must be created and selected and a prestressing system defined and selected. If these are not already created, the Prestressing System dialog will automatically be called to the display.
Tendons can be copied, mirrored or moved using the standard AutoCAD commands. Additionally, tendons can be manipulated in the drawing using the blue AutoCAD grips. It should be noted, however, that tendons created from polylines cannot be modified in position. In this case, only the end points of the tendon can be moved in the direction of the tendon’s length.
During mesh generation tendons get the loadcase number 700.
The tendon geometry corresponds to a spline geometry. To modify the tendon elements use the Modify Tendons command (Icon: ).
Note
Merging Slab PT with Shell PT or Beam PT in a drawing is not recommended. Of course Shell PT and Beam PT can be mixed.
For creation of a tendon, the following options are available for use:
Draw Line
Creates a linear tendon with the selection of a start and end point.
Convert AutoCAD Objects
Creates tendons from AutoCAD basic elements such as lines, polylines (2D and 3D) and arcs. These elements must not contain any discontinuities (e.g. kinks).
Combine AutoCAD Objects into Tendon
Creates a tendon from multiple consecutive elements. The elements must not contain any discontinuities (e.g. kinks).
Use UCS (User Coordinate System)/Use WCS (World Coordinate System)/Use Database Coordinate System
These options define which coordinate system should be used for the input of the tendon.
User Coordinate System: The program prompts the user to define a new coordinate system. For this purpose, it requires the selection of an origin and the directions of the X and Y axis.
World Coordinate System: The World Coordinate System from AutoCAD.
Database Coordinate System: The coordinate system that was defined in the ‘System Information’ dialog.
End
Ends the option or the command.
General Tab
Displays the general properties of the tendon. With both buttons behind the line of tendons, the properties of the designated tendons can be modified or a new tendon defined.
Points Tab
This tab is available for use only when modifying an existing tendon.
On this tab, all defined points in the tendon and their properties can be viewed and modified. Automatically created points (start and end points of the tendon and points created through support lines) cannot be deleted. Non-editable fields displayed with a grey background.
If the option Auto-Detect Positions Using Support Lines is deactivated, the tendon is assigned high points only at the start and end points. Support lines will no longer be considered.
If points created from support lines are available from previous working steps, these can now be treated as manually created points.
Additional Points
For the insertion of additional points, the context menu can be used. Select an existing entry and right click in the table area of the Points Tab. A menu will appear with the following entries:
Pick New
The dialog box is hidden and the user is prompted to define a new point directly in the drawing.
Pick Current
The dialog box is hidden and the user then has the possibility to select the change to the position directly in the drawing. This option is not available for use with automatically created points.
Insert Before
Inserts a new point before the marked entry. The inserted point is set mid-way between the marked point and the point before it. This option is not available for use with the first defined point.
Insert After
Inserts a new point after the marked entry. The inserted point is set mid-way between the marked point and the following point. This option is not available for use with the last defined point.
Delete
Deletes the marked point. This option is not available for use with automatically created points.
Delete All (Except Automatically Generated)
Deletes all manually created points in the tendon.
